A Regenerative Approach to Restoring the Ocular Surface
Corcellys Therapeutics is developing a regenerative cell therapy for patients with severe limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD). Our approach is designed to restore the limbal stem cell population required for long-term maintenance and regeneration of the corneal epithelium.
Built for a Practical Treatment Paradigm
Our development strategy goes beyond generating the therapeutic cells. We are building the product around the requirements of clinical use, with a focus on cell identity and purity, robust manufacturing, cryopreservation, and a practical delivery format.
The goal is a treatment that can be manufactured reproducibly, transported in a ready-to-use format, and applied by ophthalmic surgeons without requiring complex cell-processing procedures at the clinical site.
From Cell Biology to a Therapeutic Product
The program builds on extensive experience in pluripotent stem cell biology, ocular cell therapy, translational development, and manufacturing. Corcellys is integrating these capabilities into a product designed from the outset for clinical translation.
Our development priorities include:
- Generation of a highly enriched limbal stem cell population
- Robust characterization of cell identity and quality
- Cryopreservation and post-thaw recovery
- Clinically practical formulation and delivery
- Scalable and reproducible manufacturing
- Translational studies supporting progression toward clinical development
